There are only two criteria for our tree planting projects, that trees are native to the local area and there is full public access. The trees we plant have to enhance the public’s experience. Trees naturally provide shelter, homes for animals, a place for people to rest and feel good.
Newquay Wild Orchard – We are currently engaged in planting a wild orchard as part of a wider plan to plant trees near Newquay Sports Centre. Plans will be finalised towards the end of August, with estimated fruit tree planting in early September. Several planted trees have died, these will be replaced.
The location looks ideal, both the land owner and renter, and local cricket club, are very enthusiastic. It’s close to the town centre with good pedestrian and car access. The public response has been great, and people are very happy.
